Waseem Akram tried to ruin my career: Shoaib Akhtar

KARACHI: Shoaib Akhtar in his autobiography ‘Controversially Yours’ has accused Waseem Akram of trying to ruin his career, Geo News reported Friday. The former Pakistani fast bowler said that he was supported by Tauqeer Zia during that time.

According to the autobiography, Waseem Akran had threatened to separate half the team if Akhtar was included. Akhtar also admitted to ball tampering and advised that this should be allowed in cricket.

On Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid, the autobiography stated the Indian batsmen were not match winners. Akhtar delscribed his experience in the IPL as unpleasant and was critical of both Lalit Modi and Shahrukh Khan.
